Overview

This module is part of the Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) learning course and focuses on your responsibilities for animal welfare on-farm.

You’ll explore the standards that apply to the care of cattle, sheep or goats, and learn how to meet them through training, planning, and day-to-day practices. By applying the Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines, you help protect animal welfare, support your business reputation, and strengthen the integrity of the Australian livestock and red meat industry.

Learning Outcomes

On completing this package, you will:

  • identify what’s relevant for your animal type (sheep, cattle or goats)
  • access and use the Standards & Guidelines as a practical reference
  • ensure that all people performing animal husbandry tasks are appropriately trained and competent
