Overview

This module is part of the Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) learning module and focuses on managing on-farm risks that can impact food safety, livestock health and market access.

In this module, you’ll explore how to assess your property for potential hazards and take steps to reduce those risks. Potential hazards include physical contaminants, chemical residues and for cattle properties recycled water usage.

Whether you’re selling, moving, or producing livestock, knowing how to manage on-farm risks supports both compliance and the integrity of Australia’s red meat supply chain.

Learning outcomes

On completing this module, you will learn how to:

  • complete a basic farm map that supports a property risk assessment
  • conduct and document a property risk assessment
  • identify and manage potential sources of contamination
  • understand and mitigate risks associated with recycled water use on cattle properties

If you’re an agent, this module will help you guide producers through a property risk assessment and provide practical support.
