Pasture establishment checklist

Before grazing newly established pastures you need to:

• manage weeds and pests
• ensure plants are well anchored
• make sure the soil has a good moisture profile
• have plants at 10–15cm high
• be prepared to manage the first grazing carefully
• plan ahead to rest the paddock for seed set in the first year.
