Pasture establishment checklist

Before grazing newly established pastures you need to:
- manage weeds and pests
- ensure plants are well anchored
- make sure the soil has a good moisture profile
- have plants at 10–15cm high
- be prepared to manage the first grazing carefully
- plan ahead to rest the paddock for seed set in the first year.
