In recent years, some BREEDPLAN analyses have utilised DNA information. This is known as Single-Step BREEDPLAN.
Implementation of Single-Step BREEDPLAN requires a minimum number of animals with both DNA and performance information.
The addition of DNA information increases the accuracy of the BREEDPLAN analysis but does not replace the need for the collection of performance information by seedstock producers.
