With BREEDPLAN information readily available online, you can prepare a shortlist of bulls that meet your genetic requirements ahead of sale day. On sale day all that remains is for you to conduct visual assessments of your shortlisted bulls. Remove from your shortlist any that don’t meet your visual assessment criteria.

Consider developing a secondary list of potential bulls to purchase. This allows you to have a back up plan if your top tier of bulls do not pass visual assessment and/or sell above your budgeted price.

Remember that BREEDPLAN analyses are run regularly throughout the year. Many BREEDPLAN analyses are run monthly, and some are run every fortnight. If you have created your bull buying shortlist well in advance of the sale, consider reconfirming your list in the days ahead of the sale to ensure you have the latest BREEDPLAN information.
