Select the selection index of most relevance

As at June 2024, 16 Australian breed societies and breeding groups publish selection indexes for the production systems in which their breed is commonly used:
- Some selection indexes will be suitable for purebred systems, while others are suitable for crossbreeding systems
- Some selection indexes will be suitable for self-replacing systems (e.g. some female progeny retained), while others are designed for terminal systems (e.g. all progeny slaughtered)
- Each selection index will target different market scenarios. Depending on the breed, these could include vealer, domestic/supermarket, long-fed and export markets.
