What are selection indexes?

Selection indexes provide an EBV for profit ($) for a specific production system/target market

• Selection indexes take into account the relevant growth, carcase, fertility and efficiency attributes of each animal to identify those whose progeny will be most profitable for the production system described.
• Selection indexes take the hard work out of knowing how much emphasis to put on individual EBVs, allowing you to make balanced selection decisions.
